The early childhood learning program for children is based upon the following CDES Lab School core philosophical framework: A constructivist approach to education which includes nature based learning, inspiration and practice from the programs of Reggio Emilia, Italy. The Ateliers, Construction Studio and other areas of the school campus are designed to actively engage children in their learning. Teachers use observation and the Desired Results Developmental Profiles (DRDP) to assess children. Parent conferences are scheduled and available as a parent opportunity twice a year with a child’s teacher. Prepared learning environments are designed by teachers and CDES faculty as college students learn along side young children.
